PRIVACY
Short version: your answers stay on your device.
The quiz runs in your browser. There is no account and no server holding your results. We use one analytics tag to count visits and see which pages work — never your ratings, your type, or the faces you were shown.
What is stored on your device
When you finish a quiz we save the result in your browser’s localStorage
under the key mytypequiz.history.v1. One entry contains:
- the date and time of the run;
- your resulting type and the average rating for each of the 13 looks;
- your “pickier than” percentage and how many faces you said yes to;
- which pool you chose (women, men, or everyone).
We keep the most recent 20 runs. This data never leaves your device: it is not sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. It is used only to show the “Your history” section and to compare your current run with earlier ones.
How to delete it
Use Clear history under the history section, or clear site data for this domain in your browser settings. Removing the entry removes every saved run.
Analytics
The site loads Google Tag Manager (container GTM-PSMJP2G2),
which runs Google Analytics 4. It records:
- the pages you visit and how you arrived;
- approximate location (derived from IP), device, browser, and language;
- anonymous interaction events — quiz started, quiz completed (type label, pickiness percentage, average rating, how many faces you said yes to), share sheet opened, card downloaded, link copied, which network you picked.
It does not receive your individual ratings, the portraits you were shown, or
the share card image. Google may set cookies such as _ga and
_ga_* and receives your IP address; Google’s privacy policy applies to that
processing.
To opt out, block analytics in your browser or an extension, use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or clear cookies for this site. The quiz works the same either way.
What we do not collect
- No account, email address, or name.
- No advertising or cross-site tracking pixels — only the analytics tag above.
- No fingerprinting, and no server-side record of your answers.
- No upload of the portraits you rate or the ratings you give.
Fonts
The pages load two typefaces from Google Fonts. That request is made by your browser directly to Google, which will see your IP address and user agent; Google’s own privacy policy applies to it. If you would rather avoid that request, the fonts can be self-hosted — the site works the same either way.
Sharing
The share card image is generated locally in your browser with a canvas — it is not uploaded anywhere. If you click a sharing link (X, Facebook, Reddit, WhatsApp, Telegram, LinkedIn, Weibo), you leave this site and the destination’s privacy policy applies to what you post there.
Portraits
All 300 portraits are AI-generated images of fictional adults, created for this project. They do not depict real people, and no real person’s data is involved in the quiz.
Children
The quiz is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has used the site, contact us and we will remove any associated analytics data we can.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the bottom of this page changes with it. Material changes would be reflected in the interface before they take effect.
